Problem
Many Christians struggle to establish and maintain a consistent prayer life. They may feel overwhelmed by the demands of daily life, or uncertain about how to approach prayer in a meaningful way. Additionally, many Christians feel disconnected from their fellow believers, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has limited opportunities for in-person worship and fellowship.
Solution
Guide aims to address these problems by providing an easy-to-use prayer app that is accessible to Christians of all backgrounds and denominations. The app features a clean, simple interface that allows users to quickly access daily prayer prompts, customized prayer plans, and social features that facilitate connection with other Christians around the world.
Process
The design process for Guide began with extensive research into the needs and preferences of Christian users. This research included surveys, focus groups, and user testing to gather feedback on the usability and functionality of the app.

Research
The first step in the design process was to conduct research to understand the needs of the target audience. We conducted user interviews and surveys to gather data on the following:
- How often do Christians pray?
- What are the common challenges they face when praying?
- What motivates them to pray?
- How do they connect with other Christians?
- What features would they like to see in a prayer app?
Based on the research, we identified the following user needs:
- A simple and intuitive app that is easy to us
- A way to track their prayer progress
- A way to connect with other Christians
- Daily prayer reminders
- A way to share prayer requests with others
Key Features
Guide allows users to create customized prayer plans that are tailored to their specific needs and interests. Users can select from a range of pre-existing templates or create their own plans from scratch.
Social features
Guide includes social features that allow users to share their prayers with other Christians around the world. Users can connect with other believers, share prayer requests, join prayer, and receive support and encouragement.
Iteration & Final Designs
Once I had a clear understanding of the user needs, I started the design process. I created wireframes and prototypes to test the app’s usability and functionality.
The design of Guide is clean, modern, and intuitive. The app features a simple, easy-to-use interface that is designed to be accessible to users of all ages and backgrounds. The app’s color scheme and typography are chosen to create a calm, contemplative mood that encourages users to focus on their prayers.
The app’s home screen features a prominent “Pray Now” button that allows users to immediately access daily prayer prompts. Users can also navigate to their customized prayer plans, social features, and other parts of the app from the home screen.
The social features of Guide are designed to foster a sense of community among users. Users can create a profile, connect with other Christians, and share their prayers and prayer requests. The app also includes a “Prayer Wall” feature that allows users to post public prayer requests and receive support from other members of the Guide community.
